Work the Room Girl!
How to Network with Confidence and Reap the Rewards

A fundraising event in support of Northcott

Are you ready for something different? Are you looking for an evening that is both fun AND constructive to end the year? Our last Women in Business event for 2008 promises to deliver something very special.... and it’s all in aid of a worthy cause!

Over the last 12 months we are sure that you’ve attended a variety of professional development programs, conferences, seminars and our own Women in Business events with enthusiasm and gusto. But have you really made the most of those networking opportunities? Now it’s time to have some fun while gaining tips on how to make next year’s calendar even more productive!

Why not bring along your staff and clients too – it promises to be a great night!

Nikki Heald, author, presenter, businesswoman and trainer, will be delivering a fascinating insight into the art of networking. From changing people’s perceptions of networking, through to providing practical tips and strategies to increase the value of your contacts, Nikki will ensure that everyone at the event knows how to work the room with confidence and grace!

Nikki will cover topics including:

  • Mastering first impressions - you only get one chance
  • The value of networking – not just a social soiree
  • Increasing your visibility – engaging and generating interest
  • Networking protocol – handshakes and introductions
  • Distributing cards – the networking shark
  • Beyond business cards – nurturing key alliances

To help celebrate another successful year for the Women in Business Forum, this event will also double as a major fundraising opportunity for Northcott. We are hoping to raise $5000 from the event that will go directly towards the 2008/09 Adult Recreation Christmas Program – a very worthy program that enables people with physical disabilities to participate in recreational and leisure activities of their choice. So come on, join in the fun and frivolity and help yourself along the way! We will be hosting a raffle and silent auction with fabulous prizes generously donated by our corporate sponsors, as well as enjoying the return of the renowned Women in Business Gift Bag. Don’t miss out!
