Biography
Rita joined Coleman & Greig in 2001 as a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation team. Since then, Rita has become an integral member of the team, managing numerous Local, District, Supreme and Federal Court proceedings, as well as Supreme and Federal Court interlocutory applications.
Rita’s particular area of expertise is intellectual property and protecting clients’ rights through a variety of mechanisms. She has worked for a number of Coleman & Greig’s commercial clients, including master franchisors, manufacturers and suppliers, providing advice and representation on matters including:
- Registration of intellectual property
- Opposing applications for registration of intellectual property by other traders
- Protecting confidential information from unauthorised use
- Defending alleged infringements of intellectual property
In addition to her work in the field of intellectual property, Rita also advises and represents clients in matters relating to professional negligence, stamp duty obligations, trade practices/common law negligence and product liability.
