Learning and Development

Coleman & Greig is committed to a structured and sustained learning culture to ensure that individuals, teams and the firm strive towards achieving their goals and strategic vision. Our learning plan has been developed to incorporate both legal and non-legal skills and competencies. The various components of the program are below.

Continuing Professional Development

Professional staff are provided with ongoing professional development to ensure their knowledge remains current. They participate in appropriate external workshops, forums and seminars.

Specialised Programs

These include courses for support staff, our legal studies scholarship program, core skills program for professional staff, future leaders and senior staff programs for those wishing to further their careers at the firm, and a leadership development program.

These programs develop both legal specific as well as other skills such as time management and presentation skills. They also include things such as mentoring and communication skills to ensure our staff uphold our values in all interactions with clients, the public and fellow staff members. There are also extensive opportunities for professional staff at all levels to participate in the marketing events of the firm, and put their new found skills into practice.

Technology Training

Upon starting with the firm new staff are given a comprehensive induction to the firm's software and procedures. Our technical training doesn’t end there with regular follow up and development training for all staff.

Further Study Assistance

Employees wishing to complete further studies aligned with their team and the firm’s goals are eligible for study assistance from the firm. Depending on the circumstances the firm can contribute from 50 up to 100% of fees and textbook costs as well as offering paid and unpaid study leave.
