Biography
Andrew joined Coleman & Greig in September 1999
after graduating from the University of Sydney in 1995
with an economics degree and a first class honours law
degree. After working as a tax accountant and law clerk,
Andrew was admitted as a solicitor in December 1996.
Andrew has gained a wide experience
in the area of retail and commercial leasing. He has
acted for:
- National franchisors in negotiating
their leases of premises Australia wide and in preparing
occupancy agreements with their franchisees.
- Commercial tenants entering into
leases of retail, commercial and industrial sites
of various sizes.
- Landlords of shopping centres,
commercial and industrial sites in drafting leases
and related documentation.
- Landlords in negotiating and drafting
leases of sites to the various telecommunications
carriers for the purposes of providing telecommunications
facilities.
- A number of local Councils across
New South Wales in relation to property transactions
- including compulsory land acquisitions, leases and
licenses of council owned facilities and reserves
and lane closures.
In relation to commercial finance,
Andrew has acted for financial institutions and suppliers
of goods in drafting and registering securities and
related guarantee documentation. He also handles the
securities work for a major, listed pharmaceutical company
and has been invited to present seminars to pharmacists
planning to buy their own pharmacy.
Andrew has also developed an interest
in native title. He has contributed case notes to the
Australian Indigenous Law Reporter and is currently
writing a thesis on native title for the purposes of
completing a Masters by Research at the University of
Sydney.
